Project Manager / Detailer

Position Overview

Responsible for translating architectural plans and engineering documents into fabrication shop instructions using Auto-CAD, Tekla, or SDS/2. You will also manage material procurement, project schedules, and coordinate delivery fleets with client site supers to guarantee on-time project execution. Experience with structural steel and Misc. Metals is a must.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed shop fabrication drawings and erection drawings for steel assemblies.
• Develop accurate bill of materials (BOM), takeoffs, and estimated project cost sheets.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architects, general contractors, and structural engineers.
• Monitor fabrication timelines and field installation schedules to ensure progress milestones are met.
• Assist in organizing shipping lists and local delivery routes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in structural metal detailing, AutoCAD drafting, or steel project management.
• Strong communication and math skills.
• Experience with steel detailing software (Tekla Structures, SDS2, or AutoCAD) required.
• Degree in structural engineering, architecture, or related construction management field is a plus.
